PETG is sterilizable and has high impact resistance, and excellent moisture and chemical resistance. It is one of the best options in 3D print materials. Its low forming temperatures makes it easy to vacuum, form through pressure, and bent through heat.
When directed to sunlight, PETG's color is affected and it becomes less bright. Also, its translucent material is easily scratched.
The reason why many companies choose PETG as their material in producing mechanical parts and robotics is because it is the perfect filament to combine ductility and strength. Also, it is considered as a great material for ornamental and artistic prints like rings, bracelets, collars, and the like.
Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol or PETG is a result of adding glycol (hence the letter G) to a base of PET. This is made through the process of polymerization when glycol is added to the material composition of PET. The resulting filament is easier to use than its base form of PET, not to mention that it is clearer and less brittle.
