Bill of Materials (BOM) Definition

A Bill Of Materials (BOM) is a term used in manufacturing and engineering to refer to all the components required by an operation, process or system at one point or another during its life cycle from concept through disposal as scrap material. These can include anything from raw resources like iron ore up to finished products that were once individual objects but are now considered part of other things; whether broken down into their basic parts such as plastic pellets before being melted back together again.
